As the T20I leg of the England – India women’s series continues, visitors India stand on the brink of a historic first-ever T20I series win over England. India has registered back-to-back wins; first by 97 runs and second by 24 runs, and the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will look to maintain their winning streak and fine-tune their plans ahead of a bigger challenge at The Oval. England, meanwhile, have a chance to stage a turnaround with 3 T20Is still to be played.

In the second T20I staged at Bristol, India clinched a 24-run victory, taking a commanding 2-0 series lead. After early wickets, Jemimah Rodrigues (63 off 41) and Amanjot Kaur (63* off 40) forged a vital 93-run partnership to steer India to 181/4. Richa Ghosh’s late cameo of 32* powered India to a competitive total. Tammy Beaumont (54) and Sophie Ecclestone (35) fought back, but England was eventually bowled out for 157/7, with Shree Charani picking up 2/28 and Amanjot Kaur picking up 1, and guiding India to victory.
Head-to-Head:
Total Matches Played: 32
England Wins: 22
India Wins: 10
While England continue to hold a dominant edge in T20I head-to-heads, India have completely turned the tables in the ongoing series. After a commanding 97-run win in the first T20I, the visitors followed it up with a clinical 24-run victory in the second, taking a healthy 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
England entered the contest with confidence, having swept the West Indies Women 3-0 earlier this summer. But India, despite their last T20I series being way back in December 2024 (2-1 win over West Indies at home), have brought both form and firepower. Their 2025 season has already been impressive, beginning with a 3-0 ODI sweep over Ireland in January, followed by a dominant showing in the Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series, where they topped the table and crushed Sri Lanka by 97 runs in the final.
With new faces stepping up and experienced players delivering match-winning performances, India are playing with purpose and poise. The historical numbers may still favour England, but all the current momentum lies firmly with the Women in Blue.
