The champions of the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) season and last year’s runners-up, Trinbago Knight Riders, will be determined to go one step further this time and reclaim the title. With this goal in mind, they have enlisted the services of hard-hitting Deandra Dottin this season.

In her maiden Women’s Premier League (WPL) campaign, earlier this year, she scored quickfire runs at a strike rate of 154.34 for the Gujarat Giants and also took 8 wickets in the tournament. Her T20 International (T20I) numbers speak for themselves; 3,004 runs from 135 innings and 71 wickets from 73 bowling innings. She also holds the record for scoring the first-ever Women’s T20I century.
Dottin will be supported by young West Indian players such as Jahzara Claxton, Zaida James, Jannillea Glasgow, and Samara Ramnath, all of whom have been retained by the Trinbago Knight Riders. The team has aimed to build a balanced squad that blends youthful energy with seasoned experience, targeting a strong and well-rounded showing this season.
Speaking of experienced campaigners, the Knight Riders have also successfully secured several seasoned overseas stars. Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen returns to the side, bringing both skill and consistency. In her previous WCPL outings, she claimed 4 wickets at an economy rate of 5.38 runs per over. Her strong form continued in the 2025 WPL, where she represented the Delhi Capitals and finished as the third-highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets. She also made key contributions with the bat, scoring two half-centuries.
The Knight Riders have also brought in Lizelle Lee, the former South African international who is now an Australian resident and is a constant presence across domestic competitions. Renowned for her explosive batting, Lee has been a standout in both the WBBL and The Hundred. In her WBBL career, she is nearing 2,500 runs, including five centuries, and boasts a strike rate of 131.32. She has also scored three fifties in The Hundred, maintaining a strike rate above 130. This will be her first WCPL appearance, and she will be keen to replicate her T20 franchise success on Caribbean soil.
Another valuable addition is Indian pace-bowling all-rounder Shikha Pandey. In her previous stint with the Knight Riders, she picked up 4 wickets at a respectable economy rate of 6.80 while also contributing useful lower order runs. Pandey will look to continue her good form from the 2025 WPL, where she took 11 wickets during the Delhi Capitals’ runner-up campaign.
She will be joined by her Indian counterpart, Salonee Dangore, a promising leg-spinner who will add depth to the Knight Riders’ bowling line-up. Dangore is expected to support the experienced Jess Jonassen and help strengthen the team’s spin options.
