For the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2022, the WCPL will be hosted in Guyana, after St Kitts & Nevis and Trinidad & Tobago played host in previous years. This move not only brings the thrill of women’s T20 cricket to a new audience but also offers the Guyana Amazon Warriors home advantage on the familiar pitches of Providence.

The lineup remains unchanged for the fourth straight year, showcasing the consistency and rivalry between the established franchises such as Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW), Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), and Barbados Royals (BR). The upcoming 4th edition of the tournament will be played in a double round robin format, meaning each of these three teams will face each opponent twice in the league stages, comprising six matches before the grand finale on 17th September 2025 (Wednesday).

The Barbados Royals have set the benchmark, capturing two consecutive titles in 2023 and 2024 after finishing runners-up in the inaugural edition in 2022. Their star, Hayley Matthews, has blazed a trail with both bat and ball, amassing 424 runs (the tournament’s highest) and snaring 23 wickets to lead the bowling charts as well.

The Knight Riders, champions in the inaugural edition, continue as formidable contenders, while the Amazon Warriors will be eager to capitalise on home support to improve on their past finishes.

Previous WCPL Champions:

  • Trinbago Knight Riders [TKR] (led by skipper Deandra Dottin) in 2022
  • Barbados Royals [BR] (led by skipper Hayley Matthews) in 2023 and 2024

All matches are scheduled for the afternoon, with four of the seven fixtures (including the final) starting at 2 pm local time, allowing for optimal spectator attendance and prime-time broadcast in the Caribbean.

As the countdown begins, the 4th edition of the WCPL from 6th September 2025 is poised not only to build on the momentum of women’s cricket in the Caribbean but also to inspire future generations and shine a spotlight on the emerging stars of West Indies cricket.
