Match 1: Harbour Diamonds Womens vs Murshidabad Kueens Womens

The Bengal Pro T20 League opened with an exciting face-off between Murshidabad Kueens Women and Harbour Diamonds Women, where the Kueens emerged victorious by 6 wickets. Batting first, Harbour Diamonds struggled to stitch partnerships and were bowled out for 107 in 19.5 overs.

The top order couldn’t find momentum with Yogita Rawat (4 off 9), Kashish Vinod Agarwal (16 off 14), and Ankita Barman (15 off 19) departing without converting starts. Dipa Das anchored briefly with a promising 37 off 29, but a middle and lower-order collapse left the Diamonds reeling. Ariktha Manna’s 12* was the only other double-digit score in a disappointing innings. Murshidabad’s bowlers made their mark early. Namrata Chandra was clinical with figures of 3/13, while Tanusree Sarkar backed up with 3/17. Trishita Sarkar (1/6) and Jahanvi Raj Paswan (2/21) provided valuable support in restricting the opposition.

Chasing 108, the Kueens had a shaky start, losing early wickets – Trishita Sarkar (3), Jahanvi Raj Paswan (17), and Samayita Adhikari (0). But Tanusree Sarkar turned the match on its head with a stellar unbeaten knock of 61* off just 42 balls. Skipper Prativa Rana played a steady hand with 9* off 16 as the Kueens sealed the win in 17.3 overs. Despite Ariktha Manna’s efforts with the ball (2/23), Harbour couldn’t stop the flow.

Match 2: Servotech Siliguri Strikers Womens vs Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Womens

In a rain-curtailed contest limited to just 13 overs per side, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women displayed clinical precision as they cruised to an 8-wicket win over Servotech Siliguri Strikers Women, capping off a dominant opening day in the Bengal Pro T20 League.

Opting to bat first, the Strikers posted a moderate total of 86/2 in their 13 overs. The top order showed some resilience. Tithi Swarpan Das remained unbeaten on 27 off 28, Sneha Gupta contributed 23 off 23, and skipper Priyanka Bala chipped in with a brisk 32 off 24. Despite the cautious start, the Strikers failed to accelerate in the final overs. Kolkata’s bowlers kept things tight, with Mita Paul leading the charge with tidy figures of 1/11 in her two overs.

In reply, Kolkata Tigers executed a smart and composed chase. While Ankita Mahanta made a steady 17 off 17 and Sujata Dey managed only 5, the innings was anchored expertly by Parna Paul, who remained unbeaten on 32 off 31. She was well supported by captain Mita Paul, who continued her all-round impact with a rapid 21 off 13, and Prativa Mandi’s finishing touch of 10* ensured the Tigers wrapped up the chase with 8 wickets in hand in just 12.4 overs. Siliguri’s Mouli Manik Mandal picked up 1/14, but the bowlers lacked the fire to halt the Tigers’ chase.
