With less than a year to go for one of the biggest women’s international cricket tournaments, the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC has released the much-awaited schedule. This edition marks the biggest ICC Women’s T20 World Cup yet, with 12 teams competing for the trophy.

The upcoming 10th edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will begin with hosts England taking on Sri Lanka in the opening match at Edgbaston on 12 June 2026. In addition to the fixtures, the league stage groupings were also announced.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for 30 June and 2 July at The Oval, with the final match to be held at the “Home of Cricket”, Lord’s, on 5 July 2026.
Tournament Director Beth Barrett-Wild said the tournament would contribute to lasting change, stating, “The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup provides us with an unparalleled opportunity to transform a month of sporting excellence into a movement that will rewrite the narrative about women’s cricket.”
The Women in Blue will play their opening match against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 14, 2026, Sunday, at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground. India would like to continue their impressive run of 6-2 against Pakistan in T20 World Cups, in one of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament.
On June 17th, 2026, India will play against one of the 2 qualified teams at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds. In the third match, India will take on South Africa at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Sunday, June 21, 2026. India has won 10 matches to South Africa’s six in their 19 T20I encounters. However, the two teams have never faced each other in a World Cup, setting the stage for a historic clash.
India will face whichever team emerges from the qualified duo again at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground on June 25th, 2026. They will then clash against the six-time champions Australia in their final league match. The match will be played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on 28th June 2026. India will be keen to improve their record against the heavyweights, having won just two of their 7 meetings so far, and redeem themselves following previous heartbreaking defeats.
India will soon start their preparations for the multi-nation tournament as they head towards their tour of England, starting from 28th June 2025, at Nottingham. India has unveiled a balanced squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series, and the players will try to find their rhythm, adapt to English conditions, and prepare effectively for the T20 World Cup next year.
