As the Women in Blue land in the UK ahead of a high-stakes tour, the stage is all set for a clash of tactical nous, emerging talent, and seasoned pros.
The Indian squad, led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur with Smriti Mandhana as vice‑captain, has touched down brimming with excitement and anticipation for the upcoming tour of five WT20Is and three ODIs.

This tour serves as an essential stepping stone ahead of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup, set to be hosted in India and Sri Lanka starting September 30. It also emphasizes testing the squad’s depth, combinations, and strategy before the mega event.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remains India’s inspirational leader and a veteran across formats, supported by ICC ODI No. 1 batter Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain and a prolific top-order anchor. Jemimah Rodrigues brings reliability and stability in the middle order, while Shafali Verma—known for her explosive batting—is set to return and ignite quick starts. Pratika Rawal, who has been making waves recently as the fastest woman to reach 500 ODI runs (achieved in just eight innings), will once again look to set records.

Promising off-spinners Sneh Rana and Shreyanka Patil are set to spearhead the spin attack. Tejal Hasabnis, Amanjot Kaur, and Arundhati Reddy form a blend of experience and energy in the seam department. Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia, the dynamic wicketkeepers, also add valuable batting depth.

The India Women’s tour of England blends youth and experience. With the World Cup just months away, every match will be treated as a trial — testing form, temperament, and team dynamics.
Under Harmanpreet’s leadership and with match-winners across the batting, spin, and pace departments, India are well and truly ready to raise the bar in English conditions.
