Match 20: Shrachi Rarh Tigers Womens vs Servotech Siliguri Strikers Womens

Batting first, the Siliguri Strikers struggled from the outset and could only manage a below-par total of 95/8 in their 20 overs. The top and middle order faltered under disciplined bowling, with only Mouli Manik Mandal showing resistance with a cautious 32 off 40 balls.

Skipper Priyanka Bala chipped in with 11, while Tithi Swarpan Das added a valuable 18, but the rest of the batting line-up failed to contribute, collapsing to single-digit scores. The Rarh Tigers’ bowling unit was on spot with their plans. Bidisha Dey was the standout performer, claiming an impressive 3/27, while Piyali Ghosh (2/15) and Shreya Karar (1/10) applied relentless pressure to keep breaking any potential partnerships.

In response, the Rarh Tigers openers made light work of the chase. Openers Parama Mondal and Brishti Susanta Majhi put on a dominant 96-run unbeaten partnership, chasing down the target without losing a wicket. Brishti played a fluent knock, bringing up her half-century with an assured 55* off 49 balls, while Parama anchored the innings with 37* off 39 deliveries, steering their side home in just 16.2 overs.

Match 21: Adamas Howrah Warriors Womens vs Murshidabad Kueens Womens

Batting first, the Kueens were bundled out for just 97 runs in 18.5 overs, struggling right from the start. Their top-order collapsed in dramatic fashion, losing wickets in rapid succession. Jahanvi Raj Paswan (4), Samayita Adhikari (1), and Snigdha Paul (6) failed to get going, leaving the side reeling early. Skipper Prativa Rana tried to steady the innings with a fighting 25 off 29 balls, supported briefly by Tanusree Sarkar (15 off 13), Diya Nandi (12 off 13), and Marjina Khatun (17* off 25) in the middle order.

But the lower order offered little resistance, collapsing without adding to the total. The bowling unit was led by Asmita Das, who delivered a breathtaking spell, finishing with a fifer figure of 5/7 in just 2.5 overs. Shrayosi Pranay Aich played a crucial supporting role, picking up 2/24 and breaking vital partnerships.

Chasing a modest target of 98, the reply was measured and confident. Openers Ankita Chakraborty and captain Dhara Gujjar laid a solid foundation with a 38-run opening stand. Ankita contributed a handy 22 off 31 balls, while Dhara anchored the chase with a commanding, unbeaten 55 off 45 balls, leading from the front. Priyanka Prasad chipped in with a steady 11* off 15 to take the team across the line with ease, finishing at 101/3 in 19.1 overs. Despite Sushmita Ganguly’s tidy spell of 1/12, the Kueens’ bowling lacked penetration and couldn’t halt the flow of runs.

Match 22: Harbour Diamonds Womens vs Rashmi Medinipur Wizards Womens

Batting first, the Diamonds posted a competitive total of 146/3 in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a brilliant knock from Rupal Tiwari, who top-scored with a fluent 74 off 58 balls, showcasing her stroke play. She shared a steady 46-run opening stand with Kashish Vinod Agarwal, who chipped in with 19 off 19 deliveries.

Although skipper Saika Ishaque couldn’t get going and fell for 11, the innings gained momentum toward the end with Ankita Barman’s unbeaten 19* off 18, helping the Diamonds post a solid total. Among the bowlers, Sohini Yadab stood out for the Wizards, returning with tidy figures of 2/22 in her 4 overs.

In reply, the Medinipur Wizards faltered in their chase, managing only 97 all out in 17.4 overs. Despite promising starts from Arpita Yadav (27 off 25) and captain Ipsita Mondal (20 off 21), the team couldn’t build on the foundation. After Sasthi Mondal’s 13, the middle order collapsed under pressure, with batters like Mamani Roy (2), Shivanshi Tiwari (7), Chandrima Biswas (7), and Protyusha Dey (0) all failing to reach double figures.

The Harbour Diamonds bowlers executed their plans to perfection with Rupal Tiwari once again making her presence felt with the ball, claiming 2/7 in 3 overs. She was ably supported by Ariktha Manna (2/23), Priyanka Madhab Sarkar (2/30), and Bipasha Ghosh (1/11) as the Wizards were bowled out well short of the target.

Points table standings:

As the Bengal Women’s T20 League progresses into its crucial phase, the Sobisco Smashers Malda Women have emerged as the front-runners, sitting comfortably at the top of the points table with 10 points. Second standings are the Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women and third are the Harbour Diamonds Women, both locked at 7 points each, with net run rate playing a deciding role in their standings.

Both teams have shown moments of brilliance and remain strong contenders for a playoff spot as the league intensifies. At the other end of the table, the Servotech Siliguri Strikers Women find themselves at the bottom with just 3 points, struggling to convert performances into wins. Just above them are the Adamas Howrah Warriors Women, also on 3 points, but narrowly ahead on net run rate.

With just a few league-stage matches remaining, every game from here on will be pivotal. The competition is wide open and top 5 teams will be looking to capitalize on every opportunity to secure their place in the playoffs.
