After weeks of thrilling cricket, high-pressure games, and breakout performances, in the Bengal Pro Women’s T20 League 2025, it all came down to the grand finale between Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women and Sobisco Smashers Malda Women.

Deafening champions Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women went on to defend their title on the back of another brilliant season, defined by consistency across both batting and bowling. Two of the tournament’s most consistent and determined sides locked horns in a battle for supremacy, with fans on the edge of their seats and pride on the line.
Batting first, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women were bowled out for a modest total of 104 runs in 19.5 overs. Skipper Mita Paul stood tall amidst the early collapse, anchoring the innings with a valiant 51 off 52 balls.
However, the Tigers’ top and middle order failed to provide the support she needed. Early wickets saw Sujata Dey and Ankita Mahanta depart for just 4 runs each, leaving the side struggling to build partnerships.
Parna Paul chipped in with 12 off 20, and Ritika Pal added 11 off 15, but the lower order crumbled quickly – Prativa Mandi (2), Tanuja Sarkar (0), Puja Rajak (4), Priti Mahato (2), Monika Mal (1) and Salma Khatoon (1*).
Sobisco’s bowling unit was relentless. Jeni Parveen was the star with the ball, wreaking havoc with her figures of 3/7 in just 1.5 overs. She was well-supported by Aruna Barman (2/17 in 4 overs), Riya Kumari Mahato (1/16 in 3), and Jhumia Khatun (1/23 in 4), a clinical display that choked the flow of runs and ensured regular breakthroughs.
In a rain-curtailed final, the target was revised to 39 runs in 5.2 overs for Sobisco Smashers Malda Women, but their chase never took off. The Smashers’ top order crumbled under pressure, with Aruna Barman and Sneha Mahato both dismissed without scoring.
Despite a resilient unbeaten 8* off 13 from Sukanya Parida and contributions from Jhumia Khatun (5 off 8), Srabani Pal (4 off 2), and Mamata Kisku (5* off 5), the side could only muster 22/4 in the allotted overs. The Tigers’ bowlers kept it tight, with captain Mita Paul leading from the front with figures of 2/12 in her 2 overs, and Prativa Mandi backing her up brilliantly with 2/10 from 3 overs.
With a 16-run win via the DLS method, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women once again roared their way to the title, proving their dominance in crunch moments and clutching yet another championship crown.
