International women’s cricket in Europe takes centre stage this weekend as Finland, Estonia, and Switzerland clash in the Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2025. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Kerava National Cricket Ground, the tournament promises competitive action, national pride, and a valuable platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills on the international stage.

Spectators in Finland can enjoy all the live action of the Women’s T20I Tri-Series — featuring Estonia and Switzerland — with free entry to the Kerava National Cricket Ground. The tournament not only offers valuable international experience for young and emerging players but also serves as inspiration for young girls in the crowd, helping to promote the growth of women’s cricket in the region.
Each of the three teams will play four matches in total, facing the other two sides twice each in a round-robin format. The top two teams at the end of the round-robin stage will advance to the final, which is scheduled for July 20 at the Kerava National Cricket Ground.
Finland
The hosts, Finland, last featured in the Nordic Women’s T20 Cup 2024, held in Oslo, Norway. They played four matches in the tournament but were unable to secure a win, finishing at the bottom of the standings among the five participating nations. Divija Unhale was the highest run-scorer for the Finnish national team, while Haiyen Nguyen took the most wickets for the Finnish Women’s Bears. Finland has played 37 T20 International matches so far, winning 17 and losing 20. In the upcoming tri-series, they will be looking to improve their record.

Switzerland
The Switzerland women’s team played their first WT20I match against Belgium on 28 May 2025 during their tour of Belgium. This series marked their maiden T20I series. Switzerland recently played against Belgium at Zemst during the Switzerland Women’s tour of Belgium. The Swiss team completed a clean sweep, winning the series 4-0. Sixteen-year-old Meghna Rajan was the standout performer for Switzerland, leading both the batting and bowling charts. She scored 122 runs, including a fifty, at a strike rate of 109. With her leg spin, Meghna also took six wickets across the four matches, maintaining an economy rate just under 2.

The Estonian national team also last participated in the Nordic Women’s T20 Cup 2024, held in Oslo, Norway. They played 4 matches and lost 3 of them. Their sole win came against Finland. Right-handed batter Lisa Bowring scored the most runs for Estonia in the competition. Annemari Vessik took seven wickets, making her Estonia’s highest wicket-taker and the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament overall. Estonia has played a total of 16 T20I matches so far. They have won three matches, all against Bulgaria. In the remaining 13 matches, they lost 12, and one was washed out.
