Match 9: Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers Women vs Sobisco Smashers Malda Women

Being put in to bat first, Sobisco faced early setbacks, losing Sneha Mahato for a duck and Aruna Barman for just 6. However, the middle order rose to the occasion to steady the innings. Sukanya Parida played a composed knock of 31 off 23 balls, followed by a fluent half-century from Srabani Pal, who anchored the innings with a solid 55 off 44.

Skipper Hrishita Niladri Basu chipped in with a brisk 23 off just 13 balls, while Mamata Kisku added a crucial unbeaten 19 off 24 to help Sobisco post a competitive 140/5. For Lux Shyam, Salma Khatoon led the bowling attack with figures of 2/28, supported by Sujata Dey’s economical spell of 1/11 in 2 overs.

In response, Lux Shyam’s batters approached the chase with confidence and composure. Captain Mita Paul played a stunning captain’s knock, smashing an unbeaten 89* off 60 deliveries at a strike rate of 148.33. Skipper Piyali Ghosh couldn’t anchor the innings either, contributing only 6 off 12 deliveries.

While Iti Sarkar tried to rebuild with a patient 13 off 24, the middle order offered little resistance, leading to a further collapse. Payel Vakharia provided a touch of stability at the end with an unbeaten 13 off 18, but as the team limped to 69/9 in 19 overs, rain interrupted play, and the match was eventually called off. On the bowling front, Sushmita Ganguly was clinical, taking 2 for 12, while Jahanvi Raj Paswan delivered an economical spell, picking up 1 for 10.
